Resting Place

Link to current demo here!
Resting Place is a 3D third-person adventure platformer in development, featuring a wooden puppet-like character in an eerie setting. Having awakened in an abandoned laboratory, the character finds himself in a strange world caught between life and death, seemingly devoid of people. With no combat, the gameplay focuses on exploring the environment, picking up objects, and solving puzzles to uncover the world's mysteries.
This project was my college senior thesis, which I plan to further develop in my free time.History of the projectOriginally, the idea for Resting Place came from wanting to combine all the separate small games I had made in my 3D Game Development class into one game, as I noticed that the separate games all seemed to share an eerie, yet peaceful vibe. I put that idea on the backburner on a while, until my independent projects class, in which I created a prototype in the Unity Game Engine, which you can play at this page. Ultimately I decided to expand upon the idea for my college's Senior Thesis Class, and continue to develop the game. For the Senior Thesis version of the game, I switched engines to Unreal Engine 5, and decided to add more mechanics to the game, therefore, I added the grabbing mechanic, and added more interaction to the games, as I felt it fit my aim of supporting the exploration of different spaces while adding more depth to the gameplay.
